The good manager feedback loop

the ‘good manager’ feedback loop

One of the big struggles I see managers wrestling with is 'letting go' of things. Everything they've done up to this point is based on the actual job they do, like being a press officer, an IT engineer or a designer. But when you make that step up, it becomes less about doing that job and more about helping others to do that job.

You think by hanging onto the work and doing it 'the right way' (i.e your way) will help you support your team and stay in control of what is being delivered. But in my experience, it tends to have the opposite effect. You get overwhelmed and your team gets disengaged.

If you let go and trust others, you create this 'good manager' feedback loop.
