Effective managers know this

The most effective managers understand the power of timing. They pay attention to small details like behaviours or the current agenda in the business and know the impact timing can have on an outcome. It might be when the time is right to: 

  • Speak to their boss about some resources or an idea 

  • Give some feedback to a colleague 

  • Focus attention on that big strategy  

 The boss is just as unlikely to listen to a new idea for an extra member of staff when the team is underperforming as they are to buy a Christmas tree at Easter. Timing is everything.
